Try Before You Buy

We would always suggest seeing a band perform before you book them. Video clips help but nothing beats seeing a band in the flesh

Like a lot of top function bands, we mostly perform at private events so seeing us play isn't always possible. So we invite you to one of our rehearsal sessions to experience a performance firsthand

We will perform a short set for you, after which we can have a chat about your plans over a coffee. We may even provide some biscuits!  And don't worry, there is no obligation to book us once you have seen us but most do!

This is a very popular option for clients looking to book a band for their wedding

Booking a Band Checklist

Below are some key items to ask or think about when booking a band for your wedding

Timings & Setup

Work out your schedule and timings for the day and ask the band to set up before guests arrive as this will cause less disruption during your reception. Ask how long they need to set up and soundcheck and go from there

We always choose to set up before guests arrive and we allow ourselves 3 hours to set up, soundcheck and get tidy

Space Requirements

Ask the band the minimum space they need to perform in and plan your room layout and dancefloor area with that in mind. Avoid letting the venue dictate how much space the band can have

We request a space 6m wide by 4m deep. We can squeeze up a bit if necessary

Sound & Lighting

Make sure the band come with a good quality sound system that is big enough for the number of guests and the room they are playing in. And ask if they have stage lighting, your dance floor may be a bit dark without

We carry a pro quality sound system suitable for weddings of up to 1000 guests and have a substantial lighting rig too!

Customisation & Themes

Decide on a first dance song of choice and any other required songs and ask the band if they can play them. If your wedding has a theme do you want the band to fit in with that theme?

We always offer to learn your first dance song and will consider requests too. We can customise our sets to suit your theme

Power Requirements

Ask the  band how much power they require to perform and ask the venue what power is available for the band. Always ensure the venue has more power than the band needs

WIth modern low consumption  amps and LED stage lighting we only require 2 x 13amp UK sockets to power everything.

Restrictions and Limitations

Ask your venue if they have volume restrictions or sound limiters or cut off times for live music. If a limiter is used then look for a band that can use an electronic drum kit. Controlling the volume is far easier this way

Our drummer has both acoustic and electronic drum kits and we always use the latter where a sound limiter is used
