Vocals & Lead Guitar

Russell is one of the two lead vocalists in The JJarrs as well as being lead guitarist and chief sound engineer. Basically he is responsible for making the band sound good.

History:

Russell has been playing guitar since the age of 11 and has been playing in bands for around 20 years. He is the sole remaining original founding memeber of The JJarrs which has grown and adapted from the obligatory school rock band into the outfit that it is today. Along the way Russell has performed in many other bands across a number of genres including 'Lemmy' performing some of his own work, 'Touch Of Blue' performing rock originals and some covers and 'The Bogofs' performing a varied mix of old and new covers. Whilst playing in bands Russell has also performed in plays, musicals and light opera for a number of drama companies and he continues to have a wide a varied interest in all things musical and dramatic.

Influences:

Primarily influenced by bands from the 60's including The Beatles, The Doors and The Hollies as well as progressive rock gods Pink Floyd and more recently Neil Finn (Crowded House) and Paul Weller.

Other Interests:

Steam motive power, motor sport, a little bit of golf, and most recently reviving his education in business management
